Mary Jane Corrigan was born in Oak Park, Illinois and grew up in the rural country of northern Michigan. She attended Lake Forest College, University of Colorado, and graduated with Honors in a Bachelors Degree of Fine Arts from Stony Brook University, New York.
She held her first one-man show at Stony Brook, New York in 1975 and currently resides in Livingston, Montana. The masters who have most influenced her work are still-life artists Adriaen Coorte and Chardin. Her paintings are traditional, consisting of simple still-life arrangements, florals, and Montana landscapes.
Awarded first prize for realism in the annual Montana Institute of Arts show in 2007 and Best of Show in 2008, her work is on display at the Artists’ Gallery in the Emerson Center for Art and Culture in Bozeman, Montana. Her medium is oil paint on linen.
